Megajana and Majuperak Holdings Berhad Forge Strategic Collaboration to Advance Sustainable Energy Solutions
In a significant move aimed at accelerating energy efficiency and green infrastructure development across Perak, Pendinginan Megajana Sdn Bhd (Megajana) and Majuperak Holdings Berhad (MHB) have formally executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic alliance establishes a comprehensive framework for both organizations to jointly evaluate, explore, and deploy sustainable energy solutions across upcoming commercial, industrial, and township development projects throughout the state.

Megajana, renowned for serving as Cyberjaya’s primary district cooling provider, brings extensive technical expertise in centralizing chilled water production for large-scale developments. By aggregating cooling demand across multiple buildings through underground insulated pipe networks, district cooling eliminates the need for individual, energy-intensive air conditioning units. This approach typically achieves energy efficiency gains between 35% and 50% while significantly flattening peak power demand on the national grid.
The collaboration aligns directly with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 development agenda, specifically supporting its green technology initiatives, as well as Malaysia’s broader National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). For Majuperak Holdings Berhad, the corporate entity tasked with driving property, infrastructure, and renewable energy ventures in the region, partnering with Megajana enables the integration of low-carbon utility solutions right at the master-planning stage of new developments.
Looking forward, representatives from both organizations emphasized that the MoU represents a crucial step toward achieving long-term Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. Following the official signing ceremony, joint technical working committees from Megajana and Majuperak will initiate detailed site assessments and commercial feasibility studies for target development corridors across Perak.
